She won her first WTA title defeating Melinda Czink in Australia(2005).
Known for her strong forehand and superfast serve, this Serbian beauty made her mark in French Open 2008. Post her no.1 ranking, she has seen a notable decline in form. The powerful forehand without much of a top spin along with her height gives her a distinct advantage on clay. She made a good beginning in 2014, defeating both Serena and Venus Williams in Australian Open.
In 2007, Ana qualified for her first grand slam final (French Open) and entered top 10.

2009 saw Ana losing her position in top 20. In US Open, for the first time in her career, she was eliminated in the first round.

In 2010, Ana reclaimed some ground to finish the year at no. 17. Unseeded in US Open, she advanced to 4th round before she lost to Kim Clijsters.

“Always feels good to be back at Wimbledon. Thankfully the weather has improved and there’s even been some sunshine. Still, I’m sure there will be some rain delays so it’s a good job I have some interesting books to read in the locker room.” Ana got knocked out in the second round of Wimbledon 2013.
She is a student of finance and takes part in activities related to child welfare. She is UNICEF National Ambassador for Serbia.
